Mehndi is yet another traditional yet exciting pre wedding ceremony. In India, a lot of emphasis is given on customs and rituals. Indian people are ardent lovers of beauty and elegance. This is what reflects in the Mehndi ceremony before marriage. Mehendi ceremony has been prevalent since ages and forms such an integral part of the wedding ceremony that it cannot be imagined without it. Furthermore, Mehandi is one of the sixteen adornments of the bride and her beauty is incomplete without it.

Mehndi ceremony usually takes place just before marriage. According to the ritual, the bride does not step out of the house after this ceremony. Mehndi ceremony is essentially organized by the family of the bride and is usually a private affair which takes place in the presence of friends, relatives and family members. However, the scale of the ceremony depends upon individual choice. Some people celebrate it with great pomp and show. Sometimes, the Mehndi ceremony resembles another sangeet ceremony.

 For applying Mehndi to the bride, a skilled Mehndi expert is called. He applies Mehndi on bride's hands, arms, feet and legs. Traditionally, the Mehndi applied to the bride was obtained by drying the leaves of the Henna plant. Nowadays there are various types of Mehndi designs available in the market. Some of the popular Mehndi designs include Arabic Mehndi, Rajasthani Mehndi, Crystal Mehndi, Tattoo Mehndi, etc.

This also points towards the fact that Mehndi has become more of an accessory. However, no matter whatever might be its form, it is still an essential element of the bride. According to popular belief, the darker the color of the Mehndi, the more her husband will love her. As a tradition, the bride is not allowed to work in her marital house till the time her Mehndi does not fade away. This ceremony is primarily a women function, which takes place amidst musical beats of Dholak, with women singing traditional songs for a prosperous marital life of the bride.

Godh Bharai

godh bharai ceremony is generally held a couple of days before the wedding. It can be done at any time convenient to both the families before the wedding day.

This wedding ritual marks the acceptance of the girl as a part of the groom’s family. It is conducted by the women of the groom’s family and traditionally the males did not attend this function.

In olden days, the bride used to wear a beautiful saree and the women used to adorn her with jewellery, make up and gifts. However, these days the dress, the makeup and the jewellery are all pre-planned by the bride and it is advisable to gift her the makeup and jewellery rather than actually make her wear it as it might spoil her look that she would have so carefully done at a salon or by herself!

The bride is gifted with make up products, jewellery, henna, sarees, suits, handbags, footwear, fruits, sweets and baby toys. The gifts are placed in the bride’s lap (Godh) and that’s where the ceremony derives its name of Godh-Bharai.

Tilak

Just as Godh-Bharai marks the acceptance of the girl into the groom’s family, similarly tilak is the same thing for the groom.

In this wedding ritual, a puja or havan is performed first by the groom and the bride’s family post which the bride’s family blesses the groom with tilak and gifts. Traditionally this ritual was attended by only male members of the bride’s family.

The groom is gifted with jewellery which can be a chain, ring, a wrist watch, clothes, dry fruits, sweets, cash and any other gift the bride’s family may want to give.

THE ROKA

what is Roka Ceremony?
I call it stamping the official ‘hooked and booked’ title to both the boy and girl. It is basically a pre-wedding ceremony and sort of first ceremony where family and relatives of both the families gather and exchange gifts, sweets, dry fruits and shower blessings on the girl and boy for their happy future. A priest may be called for match-making of both the mates and performing puja.

Where does the Roka Ceremony takes place?
Traditionally it is at the girl’s home. But depending on the budget and convenience it can be kept at an elaborate venue like banquet.

How is Roka ceremony done?
It does not involve any complicated rituals. It begins with Tilak ceremony on forehead of both boy and girl followed by all elders giving them blessings and gifts.

What gifts are exchanged during Roka ceremony?
Both the families exchange sweets, dry fruits, basket of fresh fruits and assortments. The girls is adorned with red chunni by her to-be-mother in law along with gold jewelry, cash and clothes. The boy is gifted clothes and cash too.

Post ritualsThe families feed each other sweets and feast themselves. Additionally a DJ party can be arranged for everyone who enjoy dancing.
The commitment for a future bonding begins with this ceremony. Only after this ceremony, the girl and boy are allowed to court each other (officially in case of love marriage  ).

What to wear for Roka ceremony?
Boys: Well every woman loves well-groomed man. So please do not experiment with beards, stubble and mustache or long hair. Clean-shaved is your best bet. Do not experiment with different hair-partitioning. Stick to your everyday style but just set them with light weight gel. Wear her favorite perfume.
In apparel, boys can go for formal attire like trouser and shirt. If you want to be more stylish opt for denim, shirt and blazer. A well-fitted Korean collar neck shirt with trousers look great. If you are traditional type, wear a kurta with light embroidery with salwar/churidar.                                                                               Girls: Being a woman has its own privileges. All the eyes are on the to-be-bride so you have to look your best. Since, Roka ceremony is not very extravagant event girls can opt for not-so heavy embroidered outfit.Lehenga will be over the top…so avoid a lehenga. You can opt for a border-work saree draped in a fashinable manner. Hair can be blow-dried and kept open or tied sleekly in a bun and adorned with fresh flowers or accessories. make-up should be simple and glowy. Dramatic ones are better kept for future functions. Highlight either your eyes or lips, never both. Wear light jewelry matching your dress. I personally prefer just long earrings and skipping necklace.

So... after flowers naina k liye todi der baad chocolates aati hai again.. without name... aur phir todi der baad love cards aate hai musical once ... and they sound ...i love you isn't it cute !!

 sham ko khud arjun aata hai phir se puri family k samne... naina se milne.. naina k papa bolte hai tumhe kal samjhaya tha ... samjh ni aaya ... u can't meet naina... stay away from her...
arjun bolta .. uncle ji ..cool down... do min bas... naina..se baat kkrne do .. phir sab thik ho jayega...

how we met part 5

Naina wasn't aware about arjun's feelings at all...

and among this all confusion .. naina met with a accident and she is hospitalized and yeh baat arjun ko jab pata chalti hai.. he wants to meet naina and decided to go to the hospital and meet her.. ab yaha aayi ek baadi problem ...that is...ki hospital mae naina k paents bhi honge and they wouldn't get happy after seeing arjun coming to meet naina..as according to naina's parents he is not a gud guy... but arjun is mae bahut ziddi hai.. he wanted to meet naina..at any cost ..voh hospital aata hai but naina k parents use milne ni dete naina se and they ask arjun to leave the place ... but arjun toh zidi hai hi... he leaves the place for a while nt at night duty ek doosra doctor ban k aata hai arjun and kyuki raat ko it was easy for arjun to enter voh naina k room mae jaata hai and when naina sees he .. they both hug tightly and...bina bole dono k dill ne feel krliya tha that they love each other ...and are made for each other...but abhi tak dono ne baat maani ni thi ... hug krne k baad arjun naina se puchta hai.. kaisi ho... pagal toh ho hi tumh dekh k road cross ni kr sakthi ho kya... and toda daat hi raha tha ki itne mae kisi k aane ki awaz aagai and arjun gate k peeche chup jaata hai...  voh naina ka bhai hota hai medicines dene aaya hota hai...
but when he was about to leave the room he see's arjun but he ignore him because he actually knew ki arjun bura ladka ni hai and voh uski behen ko dekhne aaya hai...
 arjun.. naina se pyar se baat karta hai and sab puchta hai...phir arjun leaves the hospital kyuki naina bol deti hai ki koi aajye use phele you should leave..arjun bolta hai he vl come again...and naina replied him in such a cute manner...

naina said him .. she will wait for him ..arjun says.. asie bologi toh jaoga hi nai :D
but naina sends him..and the very next moring a bunch of flowers cpmes without name... naina samjh jaati hai ki its arjun.. uski mummy samjhti ni.. and

how we met part 4

Now it was the time to tell parents about the decision taken by both of them ...
naina ne sab baata diya ki arjun ek awara , bigra hoa, and bahut baada gambler hai ... voh matches pe saata lagta hai ... and pata ni kya kya jhut bol diya naina ne arjun k baare mae and similarly arjun ne naina k baare mae aapne gahar pe ...
dono ki families is risthe se finally maana kr deti hai...
naina aur arjun bahut kush hote hai is baat se and so dey both decide to celebrate it.. and naina bolti hai lets come with ur partner.. thatis what made arjun little tensed ... baat party tak thik thi but yeh party mae girlfriend kyu leke aani hai.. he try to say ki ni no partner but naina insist him and ask him to come with his girlfriend in the party...

but the twist in the story is that arjun lied naina ... uski koi girlfriend ni thi... reason we will get to know soon... now arjun was confused ki wat shuld i do... ek raat mae girlfriend khaha se lao mai... the next the they all thatis... naina , her boyfriend harsh and arjun meet to celebrate (party) and as soon as arjun reaches the place .. naina ask him about his girlfriend .. so he lies her again ki she had some urgent work so had gone Mumbai for it ...naina say okay no problem ... lets celebrate they all celebrate it and had a great time...
naina aur arjun is party mae decide karte hai lets be gud friends .. so naina ask arjun ki kl kya kar rhe ho arjun bolta hai nothing much .. kyu she says she has a off tomorrow ..she is going for shopping and harsh is busy .. so he wont come .. will you join me !!
arjun says ya sure.. i vl join you.
asie kar kar k...dono ki bahut sari meetings.. kind of date hogai... ab reality toh yeh thi naa ki arjun has no girlfriend.. and when he started spending time with naina ... he started falling for her... and on the other side .. naina ka boy friend harsh ..wasn't loyal to her .. he was cheating on her.. uski ek aur girlfriend thi and yeh baat naina ko uski friend ne baata di hoti hai.. so they had breakup and ... now naina is also single ...
but arjun ko yeh baat pata ni hoti... and naina ko toh yahi pata hai arjun is committed
overall dono ko ek doosre k liye confusion hai bahut.. though they are friends still they dont know the truth....

arjun : mere pass ek idea hai... dono aapne parents ko bol dete hai ki hume shaadi se problem ni hai but ..mai bol donga ladki drink krti .. hai and she goes to late night parties and asie aur bhi... and same tumhe krna hai tumhe meri burai krni hai aapne parents k aage ...how say ??
Naina : idea purana hai !! Kaam aayegna ??
Arjun : are 100% aayega ...bas ache se krna !
Naina : chalo bahar chalte hai ... Phir plan ko implement kr k dekhte hai ! Aur jaisa bhi hoga na ...meko call kr k baata dena tumh.
Arjun : haa ! I vl ..

Arjun ki mummy boli lo ji aagye dono bache ....arjun ki mummy ko arjun k facial experssions se kuch thik ni lagta....and ab...dono families decide krti hai ki ....bacho se baat kr k ...sham ko baat kregee...
